Wearnes Automotive has launched the facelifted Jaguar E-PACE, with the compact SUV sporting a wealth of changes that's set to increase the model's appeal here in Singapore.
They key change is under the bonnet - the E-PACE is now powered by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology. The engine produces 158bhp and 260Nm of torque. Compared to the previous 2.0-litre engine, this new cleaner engine allows the E-PACE to fall into the B VES Banding (compared to the previous model's C2 banding with its $20,000 surcharge). This means that the new E-PACE is priced cheaper than before. Power is also sent to the front wheels, instead of the all-wheel drive found on the pre-facelift model, which will also contribute to improved fuel efficiency.
The E-PACE also receives a number of key updates to the interior, chief among which is the new 11.4-inch Pivi Pro infotainment system, as well as the fully digital Interactive Driver Display. The E-PACE also features a new Drive Selector (first featured on the updated F-PACE), as well as a wireless charging pad.
For Singapore, the E-PACE is presently offered in a single SE trim. The SE represents a step upwards equipment-wise from the previously base S model, which brings additional standard equipment like electric seats and a 3D surround camera, as well as a range of driver assistance systems including Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitor.
On the exterior, the E-PACE has been subtly updated. New LED head lights feature a double 'J' daytime running light, while a new grille mesh design with diamond detailing is influenced by the Jaguar heritage logo.
Presently, the updated E-PACE is offered in this singular 1.5 SE configuration, with a $189,999 pricetag. Beyond being the most affordable model within Jaguar's lineup presently, it is also $17,000 cheaper than the outgoing 2.0 variant's last list price. However, according to Wearnes, customers who are still keen on the updated E-PACE with a 2.0-litre engine, or even the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, may reach out to enquire about the option of indenting those specific variants.
