The new Ford Falcon FPV GS will be sold in limited numbers, and is based on the Falcon GT, using a detuned version of the GT´s 5.4-litre V8 engine. The FPV GS will be available in both sports sedan and Ute pickup form.
The GS´s powerplant produces 405bhp, instead of 423bhp like the GT, and has 551Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional six-speed automatic.
Both the sedan and the Ute gets specific race stripes, a charcoal cloth interior, FPV GT instrumentation, gear knob, a starter button and special badges while a premium sound system with iPod and Bluetooth integration, and dual zone climate control are also standard.
The GS sedan also gets 19-inch Graphite alloy wheels and a choice of six exterior colour/stripe combinations while the Ute has 19-inch Alpine Silver alloys, an FPV soft tonneau cover and a choice of three exterior colour/stripe combinations.
Ford says that the GS series will be limited to just 250 sedans and 75 Utes, and FPV General Manager, Rod Barrett, says "Our aim was to develop a model that provides the performance, prestige and individuality that is a signature of the FPV brand, with its own identifiable model personality, and all at a great price."
