Ford Mustang Mach-E gets new rally-ready variant

Ford has unveiled a new, rally-inspired Mustang Mach-E that promises to take Mustang freedom and fun right onto the dirt roads.
Called the Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally, the car takes the drivetrain of the Mustang Mach-E GT all the way up to a total of 480bhp alongside a peak torque of 881Nm. And all this comes powered by an 81kWh battery, which will allow the Mustang Mach-E Rally to deliver a U.S.A EPA range of 402km. This battery can be charged from 10% to 80% state-of-charge in just 36 minutes.
Aiding performance on the dirt here is a suspension that sports specially tuned springs and MagneRide shocks. These also raise the car an additional 20mm taller than the Mustang Mach-E GT.
These secure Ford Focus Cosworth-like gloss white 19-inch rally-style alloy wheels which come wrapped in Michelin CrossClimate2 tyres, for more loose surface grip compared to the Mustang Mach-E GT.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally also gets its door cladding and fender arches finished with a protective film to help reduce paint chips, while dealer-installed mud flaps are said to be available, to reduce debris spray.
At the front, the car gets rally-inspired fog lights as well as a recovery point and a tow hook, the latter two of which should come in handy should a customer misjudge a corner. And at the back, a dramatic rear spoiler that takes inspiration from the Focus RS features.
The car will be available in the U.S.A with colours including Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Eruption Green, and Grabber Yellow, with Star White or new Glacier Grey as extra cost options. The car does, however, come with the two racing stripes that run from the front to the rear tailgate as standard.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally is scheduled to be available for purchase in the U.S.A come early 2024, with deliveries set to begin soon after.
