Continental Tires launches MaxContact MC7 for Asia Pacific

Continental Tires has unveiled the MaxContact MC7 tyre: The sporty, high-performance tyre designed for urban landscapes and tailored to fulfill the needs of Asia Pacific (APAC) drivers.

"Developed and tested by a team of 25 engineers and material experts through more than 8,000 hours in R&D, we engineered a high-performance sporty tyre that meets the unique needs of the drivers who seek the thrill from their everyday driving," said Mr. Tolga Mutlu, Head of Product Management, Continental Replacement Tires APAC, "the new MaxContact MC7 offers just that."

The MaxContact MC7 features four main technologies to provide a refined handling and exceptional performance in both wet and dry conditions

The new MaxContact MC7 features four main technologies: Cornering Macro-blocks, ReFlex Compound, Two-in-1 Noise Breaker 3.0 and Laser-cut 3D sipes to provide refined handling and exceptional stability, along with excellent braking in both wet and dry conditions. It achieves all this while offering a sporty and silent drive.

The Cornering Macro-blocks allow the optimisation of pressure distribution within the MC7, maximising the contact area with the road to create a wider footprint to result in exceptional handling even at high speeds and around corners.

Continental's new ReFlex Compound also enhances the tyre performance in multiple ways. With a higher resistance to tyre deformation, improved steering response and accuracy is achieved. Its silica technology also enhances the transfer of kinetic energy to heat when braking, leading to shorter braking distances on both dry and wet roads.

Specially designed for the APAC region, the Continental MaxContact MC7 is exclusive to the region, and will be available in sizes ranging from 16 to 21-inch

The upgraded Two-in-1 breaks up sound waves to prevent noise from building up and travelling into the cabin to provide a quieter drive. It also works with the Laser-cut 3D sipes to accelerate the dispersion of water that flows through the tyre grooves, reducing the risk of aquaplaning and improving wet performance.

The MaxContact MC7 is the latest addition to Continental Tires' line-up of Gen7 products, and this tyre is developed specifically for APAC drivers. It will be available exclusively in APAC markets from the Q1 of 2024 and is offered in sizes ranging from 16 to 21-inches.
