BMW has revealed updated iterations of its all-electric i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe.
Up front, the cars now get increased presence thanks to a redesigned front grille (which adopts a new mesh pattern on the BMW i4). This grille comes with a matt chrome surround as standard, although this can be had in gloss black as an added option.
The updated BMW i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe get new front grilles with this latest update, and customers can opt to have their cars with the firm's Laserlight at the rear, in the style of the BMW M4 CSL.
Also new here are the head lights, which now get vertical elements for their side lights, daytime running lights, and turn signal indicators. Customers also now get the option to have these as adaptive items equipped a matrix high beam, and to pair them with the firm's Laserlight at the rear, in the style of the BMW M4 CSL.
The cars are additionally now available in new Cape York metallic and Fire Red metallic exterior colours, and BMW is offering new 19-inch M aerodynamic wheels and 20-inch BMW Individual aerodynamic wheels in a double-spoke design for the cars.
Both cars also get an updated cabin, which come as standard with a two-spoke steering wheel and illuminated multifunction buttons, although an M leather steering wheel with three-spokes and a flat-bottomed rim is also available. Combustion-engined models also now have gearshift paddles on the steering wheel as standard.
Also new for both models is the move over to BMW's Operating System 8.5. The instrument panel of both cars have also been redesigned to reduce the number of buttons offered. The cars now make use of a redesigned gear selector, and physical rotary controls are now used to adjust the individual air-conditioning vents.
The BMW i4 and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe also now come with ambient lighting as standard, and the system now offers contour lighting around the new central seam vents.
The BMW i4 is also now being offered with a new xDrive40 variant, which gets a total output of 396bhp and sends all this power to all four wheels. This will be offered alongside the i4 M50 xDrive, the BMW i4 eDrive40, and the BMW i4 eDrive35.
The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, meanwhile, will continue to be offered with a range of engines, all paired to an eight-speed transmission. These include a 181bhp 2.0-litre engine in the BMW 420i Gran Coupe, and a 241bhp 2.0-litre engine in the BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe. The BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupe continues to make use of a 368bhp 3.0-litre engine that develops a total of 500Nm of torque, allowing it to complete the century sprint in just 4.7 seconds.
