BMW and Puma reveal new Art Car Capsule Collection

BMW M Motorsport and Puma is marking 100 years since the birth of Roy Lichtenstein with an exclusive apparel collection that has been designed to bring the allure of Le Mans and BMW’s Art Cars from the road into our wardrobes.
The artist is described by BMW as one of the key figures of the pop art movement, who played a defining role in the art scene of the 1950s and 1960s with his comic-strip inspired works. Lichtenstein created a BMW 320i Turbo Art Car featuring his iconic 'Ben Day dots' personal hallmark in 1977. The car's exterior depicted a landscape that appears to move, completed with sun and cloud imagery in various colours - a reference to the 24-hour duration of the Le Mans race.
These 'Ben Day dots', alongside the use of a vibrant colour palette can be found on all items of the BMW Art Car Capsule Collection. Each garment from the collection is said to be a limited-run item, and all take their inspiration from the Lichtenstein 320i Turbo.
Those interested in the line will be able to shop from pieces that include a BMW M Motorsport RL Bomber Jacket that comes with an all-over print inspired by the artist's works, complete with an embroidered Puma logo on the chest.
Shoppers may also opt for the BMW M Motorsport RL Sweatpants, which echo the relaxed but of the jacket and features closed cuffs alongside Roy Lichtenstein appliques on both sides of the legs. Made from 70% cotton and 30% recycled cotton, the sweatpants come in green and sport a woven BMW M Motorsport logo on the back.
The apparel collection also includes a T-shirt, cap and Puma Suede sneakers, and is available to purchase via the BMW Online Shop here, or at Puma's online store here. The collection will also be available at selected Puma stores.
