Bentley has revealed more of the 'Naim of Mulliner' sound system that is being fitted into the Batur two-door grand touring coupe. The system is said to be the most exquisite in-car audio system ever created by Bentley and is additionally the result of 10,000 hours of development work.
It utilises Focal speakers which sit in Bentley's unique speaker baskets. The 20-speaker system comprises six tweeters, nine mid-range speakers, two woofers, two active bass transducers and one sub-woofer. Additionally, all mid-range speakers and tweeters have new speaker drivers whilst the woofers and sub-woofer have been modified to improve linearity and dynamics.
The system utilises Focal's Grand Utopia speakers, and both its mid-range and tweeters feature a patented 'M' cone design. This design is said to perfectly combine the three critical criteria for a speaker driver: Rigidity, lightness, and damping. This enables an extremely linear frequency response with a low distortion rate and better sound dispersion.
The tweeters have additionally been designed to produce a silky treble and offer a distinctive wide-angle diffusion beneficial for the 'off-axis' listening of in-car environments. Comprising an 'M'-profile aluminium/magnesium cone, they are designed to offer flawless harmonic balance and impressive purity.
Each speaker position has additionally been carefully chosen for perfect system integration, creating an uncompromising musical experience. The Bentley Batur is even said to have received further strengthening and stiffening around the doors and especially so at the doors and rear, for reduced distortion and improved isolation for the new 'Naim for Mulliner' system.
The Bentley Batur will be limited to just 18 series examples, all of which utilise a 740bhp version of the hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine that has propelled Bentley success for the last two decades.
