Audi S5 Sportback to get supercharged V6

The powerplant is the same unit that is found on the S4 sedan, and produces 333bhp and 440Nm of torque. The 3.0 TSI engine is mated to a seven-speed S-Tronic dual clutch transmission that transmits the power to all four wheels via Audi´s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. A sport differential, which variably distributes power on the rear axle between the rear wheels, will be available as an option.

Audi quotes a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds, compared to 5.1 seconds for the S4, and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h. Fuel economy is said to be around 9.7 litres per 100km.

The S5 also gets mild cosmetic changes to differentiate it from its lesser A5 siblings. This includes a subtle body kit that includes a deeper front bumper, aluminium-clad wing mirrors, side skirts, an Audi sports grille and a discreet boot lid spoiler plus 18-inch alloys shod in 245/40 tires.

Inside, the S5 Sportback gets a three-spoke leather steering wheel with contrasting stitching, aluminium trim, gray instrument dials, and sports seats covered with Silk Nappa leather.
