All-new 2026 Subaru Outback debuts at NY Auto Show

Subaru has taken the covers off its all-new 2026 Outback at the 2025 New York International Auto Show.
The seventh generation SUV's head lights are vertically stacked to emphasise its functionality on- and off-road. Its front fascia is more upright than its predecessor, with body-colour styling elements framing the head lights and larger grille. Its lower front fascia is textured for better scratch resistance and improved aerodynamics.
Meanwhile, the vehicle's flatter roofline highlights its generous cargo volume and ample passenger space. Behind the rear door, a wider rear roof pillar shows its robust support and structural rigidity.
A new rear light signature visually transfers the 2026 Outback's tall ride height and width. Along with Subaru's star cluster emblem, the rear design features the Outback nameplate, and an embossed 'SUBARU' brand on the lower rear fascia.
Inside, the 2026 Outback adopts a calmer, cleaner line design. It has an all-new 12.1-inch infotainment display and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster aligned for convenience and accessibility, while its upper dash panel and interior layout are aligned for continuity and everyday use.
Front and rear passengers get more headroom in the new Outback, and new low-fatigue seats mounted directly onto the chassis improve long-distance comfort and reduce head movement on longer drives.
Every 2026 Outback is equipped with the latest generation EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and, for the first time in a Subaru, features Emergency Stop Assist with Safe Lane Selection if its driver becomes unresponsive to warnings while using Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control.
The SUV is powered by a 2.5-litre engine delivering 183bhp and 241Nm of torque. In addition, a 2.4-litre engine - available on Outback XT models and exclusive to the Outback Wilderness - offers 264bhp and 376Nm of torque.
The 2026 Subaru Outback will be available in Premium, Limited, Touring, Limited XT, Touring XT, and Wilderness trim levels when it goes on sale in late 2025. Further information, detailed specifications, and pricing information will be revealed then.
