Vincar EV has debuted the Aion V, which is claimed to have the longest range of any Cat A electric SUV in Singapore. The launch, which took place at One Holland Village, saw the V joining the Y Plus crossover and ES sedan in Aion's local lineup.
The V, now in its second-generation, is a mid-sized crossover that measures 4,605mm long and stands 1,686mm tall, with a wheelbase length of 2,775mm.
Its design is inspired by a 'Cyber T-Rex', featuring claw-like daytime running lights and taillights. Combined with a variety of geometric shapes, Aion says the V espouses a "sharp and flowing aesthetic".
The V comes in eight different paintwork hues and is available with one of three upholstery colours, giving buyers up to 24 different combinations to choose from.
Inside, drivers will find a well-equipped cabin that could even rival those of premium SUV models. Both front seats, for instance, deliver five different massage modes with three intensity levels via eight points.
To help users keep their food and drinks cool or hot, the V has a built-in refrigerator with a capacity of 6.6 litres. Its temperature settings range from -15 to -50 degrees C. Backseat passengers also enjoy a flat rear floor, aircraft-style tray tables, and cooler seats that are designed with advanced 3D mesh technology that promotes better airflow.
In terms of practicality, the boot offers 427 litres of volume with the rear backrests up. When folded, this expands to 978 litres, thereby allowing users to transport bulkier items.
Up front, the driver faces an 8.88-inch LCD instrument cluster, along with a 14.6-inch high-resolution touchscreen for the infotainment. A voice command feature lets the driver do things like open/close the sunroof and windows without taking his or her hands off the steering wheel.
With regards to safety, the V's long list of features includes a 360-degree imaging system, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision Warning, and Reverse Crossing Traffic Assist.
The V's electric motor is fed by a 75.3kWh lithium-iron phosphate magazine battery. It delivers 100kW (134bhp) and 240Nm of torque, enabling it to clock a century sprint time of 9.8 seconds. Aion claims a combined WLTP range of 485km and an average consumption of 5.8km/kWh.
Equipped with 3C fast charging architecture, Aion says the V can accept a maximum rate of 180kW, which allows the battery to be replenished from 30% to 80% in 16 minutes. The carmaker also says that the SUV can gain 300km of range in 15 minutes, which is ideal for road trips.
The Aion V currently starts from $174,988 with COE. However, from 25 February to 5 March 2025, customers will enjoy an additional $6,000 discount, in addition to free upgrades to a 10-year battery warranty, and 10 years of free servicing.
