Accor organises car wash to raise funds for kids from needy families

Coinciding with the International Year of The Family, Hotel operator Accor will be organising a car wash today to raise $150,000 for children from needy families in Marine Parade GRC.

Tan Chuan Jin, Acting Minister for Manpower and also a Member of Parliament for Marine Parade, will wash the car of the donor making the highest contribution, together with directors of Roxy Pacific Holdings and General Managers of Accor Singapore Hotels.

As many as 100 children from poor families living in Marine Parade will receive $300 each from the money raised. In addition, ten teenagers, chosen from either the needy kin of staff working for Accor Hotels in Singapore or students from Nanyang Polytechnic, will also receive bursaries of $1,000 each for their tertiary education.

Moreover, Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, one of the group's hotels here, will provide a free two-night stay for needy families on the 6^th of June - who would dine with Emeritus Senior Minister, Goh Chok Tong, as guest of honour.
