What We Like
Noticeably quieter than its diesel-powered sibling
Zippy acceleration
Practical cabin full of storage spaces
What We Dislike
Will need to be charged every day if you're using one for deliveries
Like the design and practicality features of the Peugeot Partner but want your business to operate on something that's a little gentler on the environment?
This all-electric e-Partner might be the solution you're looking for.
The two sliding doors at either side of the Peugeot e-Partner and the large doors at the rear mean no package should end up too far out of reach in its 3,255-litre cargo area
Equipped with a 50kWh battery and a 134bhp electric motor instead of a combustion engine, this e-Partner can be yours at just $53,888 (without COE) - a smidgen less than the $57,888 that the diesel-powered Peugeot Partner is asking for - thanks to the CVES rebates that are currently set to be in place until 31 March 2025.
But it's not just a more environmentally friendly drive that the e-Partner offers - there's plenty of refinement benefits to be had as well.
To start, the drive in the e-Partner is noticeably quieter, even after you discount the lack of noise from a combustion engine. This e-Partner we drove does benefit from having a partition between its passenger and cargo compartment, but making a more significant difference I think, is the placement of its battery under its body.
You're noticeably better isolated from road noise in the e-Partner, which doesn't throw up any of the constant pinging that the Partner is prone to when it is driven over dirty surfaces.
The cabin of the Peugeot e-Partner is filled with loads of storage compartments for all the equipment you might need
And the rest of the drive is just as charming. Peugeot quotes the century sprint time for the e-Partner at a brisk 11.4 seconds, and the van does indeed deliver on quick acceleration when needed.
But what is even more impressive is the effortless and responsive manner in which this acceleration is delivered. Spot a space in the adjacent lane, or an empty lot in the loading and unloading bay? Just one quick prod of the throttle and you're there, even before your combustion-powered rivals have had the time to change to a lower gear.
Leave the worksite and take on some open roads and the e-Partner also offers up a mighty decent ride. The e-Partner is not only able to round off sharp edges on the road, but also does so while simply feeling planted and settled in a way that few diesel-powered vans can match, all the way up to that 70km/h limit. Those new to the logistics sector really will not be left intimidated after a quick drive in this.
And of course, once you've jostled your way into that bay you'll find the e-Partner has all you'd expect from a good work-oriented vehicle.
Its dashboard and doors are filled with all sorts of compartments in which you can store tools and other bits and bobs. And of course, the cargo area comes with two sliding doors at either side, while those at the rear can be locked at either 90 or 180 degrees, so loading and unloading goods even in difficult locations shouldn't be too much of a fuss.
We managed to average an energy consumption rate of 5.6km/kWh after two afternoons in the Peugeot e-Partner (all done with the van completely unladen), which is slightly better than Peugeot's official figure of 5.4km/kWh.
At this rate, you should be able to get a maximum of 280km between charging sessions, which means that stopping by a charging station will become a daily affair for those using the e-Partner to do deliveries. However, they will be able to take solace in the fact maximum charging speeds are healthy with the e-Partner: Each charging session will only take up to 30 minutes at a 100kW charging station.
Looking for clean logistics for you or your business? This Peugeot e-Partner will serve as one convincing option.
In the market for an electric van? There's also these larger options to consider:
The Citroen e-Dispatch comes with a sizeable battery and a large cargo space
The Opel Vivaro-e packs power and a sensible cabin all in one neat package
