Mine got battery light random flash for almost 6-7 month...And my alternator and battery keep failing 2 times within 6 month. 3 workshop and 1 of it is borneo motors can't even solve .. Borneo recommend me buy new car as they say my car suspect got electrical wire problem due to short from third party wiring n milage also high ard 260k ..Cost to repair estimated min 4k to 6k plus and i need to put my car at borneo for 1 1/2 month... I almost want to faint ..So i decide to scrap my car and planning to get 2nd hand vios until 1st October 2018 .. I try my luck as i found this mechanic from internet ..Dmotorwerkz at woodland ...Thanks Allah...They solve my problem within 3 days and say my car engine n gear box is good condition and there is no short circuit in my wire harness ...Good to renew COE for another 5 or 10 years.. Problem is the valve cover which 2 of the spark plug tighten to it ..The tread already gone. Since it's slightly loose and the spark plug is movable due to pressure in the engine ..It create engine interference which cause the voltage fluctuation. Indirectly cause my alternator regulator to work harder as it try to stabilize the alternator output voltage .. And it also degrade my car battery performance due to frequent undercharge and overcharge. As the voltage not stable and sometime it might spike or fluctuate ... My car cabin light and headlight will randomly flicker ..Ah Chow is a good mechanic and a no-nonsense guy. Seems to me looks like Toyota Expert . Ah chow tells me that I'm lucky that I did not rev my car during driving as there are chances the ECU will burn due to voltage spike as the voltage might be at 24volt. If ECU burn ...Thats alot of money. This explains why for the past 6 months why my car battery light randomly on which at least every 20 min it come out once and very fast disappears. Anyway, almost 15 days and seems everything good and now my engine silky smooth ..No more intermittent battery light ... Price wise ...Some people might say slightly on the high side ...But to me ...It is justifiable as the effort they put in to solve my problem and importantly it's located at woodland which convenient for me. Kudos to Dave , Ah Chow and the rest of dmotorwerkz team..Keep up the good work - Iskandar Bin Abdul Sani

First time to DMotorWerke after contact over the phone. They solve the smelly air-cond odour problem in my car. I like the courteous approach they gave to customer like me. I will go back to service my used BMW 520i once it's due. - Terence Lim

I've been to a couple of workshops but i shld say D Motorwerks is really awesome. Dave and team had an excellent customer oriented approach. Servicing was truely done with proper checks. Discussed and addressed well on mechanical areas of the vechicle. As a car owner, drove out of the workshop fully satisfied! - Jit Naidu

I came across D'Motorwerkz & decided to give them a shot since a good workshop is hard to come by & they had good reviews. Therefore, I dropped my merc in for servicing & replacing the valves, spark plugs, gear box lining & oil change, 4xrotor & brake pad. Though it took a whole day & slightly overrun in terms of time, I appreciate the meticulous work that one of the worker, Ah Jun, worked on my car.He was careful to ensure every steps were done in a proper manner with good knowledge. You can really entrust your car to him. Both the bosses, Dave & Fion, were customer centric & polite, honest in giving their opinions. No hard selling. When I was late in picking up my kid, they offered me a courtesy car to do so & such gesture is appreciated. Worth to give them a shot if you are looking for a good workshop for your ride! - WK Tng

Bad car repair workshop  Posted on 17-Mar-2018

Very bad professional service and also least technical expertise. My car was taken for repair . The fault could not be detected. Cylinder head was machined wrongly resulting in higher compression poressure and damage to car . The car had to be scrapped and still charged hefty amount for work done. Many items were changed which was not required to be changed before car could be made functional and ultimately lost money as car was scrapped.

Doesnt even have spare battery to try . Forces buyer to buy battery first to try out.

Though communication looks friendly but actually neither owner/ tecchnician have knowledge on overhaul. Quotes are low in beginning but later it goes up.

This incident happened during the second day of CNY. The owner called to enquire about his car overheated and state he wasn’t able to start the car after much cranking. He says would get back to us if he needs our help. At end of Feb we received a call from the owner asking us to tow the car over to our shop. He mentioned that he didn’t want to let other workshops to do the repair job for him.

Therefore upon much discussion with the owner, the car was towed in from another workshop. The car came with a dead battery, most likely was due to the excessive cranking. We offered the owner that we will try to charge up the battery for him to see if it’s usable, but after charging for 4-5 hours the battery was certified dead. Nonetheless, we use our own battery in order to conduct the testing. After testing, we certify the cylinder head gasket was burnt upon certifying there are no compressions to all cylinders. Jobs to be done and items to be changed are all listed out to the owner before we conduct any job. Spark plug and battery were listed out in the list too, but the owner insisted not to change them. Therefore upon his consent, we started with the job that is quoted.

Finished up with the TOP overhaul job, engine was started up, but engine experience misfiring so we have to change the spark plug. After changing, the engine was able to start well and runs well except the crank case pressure created was too big due to the worn piston rings. We advised that the engine was not usable unless we do the cylinder block overhaul, but the owner did not heed the advice.

The owner started to do his own research, stating that after reading up it might be the PVC spoilt. Insisted us to change it and he requested us to keep the engine started for couples of hours after valve changed., that’s because he read that from somewhere that maybe after running for some time, the engine will be smoothed and the pressure will subside. He kept insisting us to do it despite us telling him that it will only cause more damages to the engine. Therefore after following his instructions, the flywheel oil gave way, causing a leakage due to high pressure at the crank case.

After 3-5 days owner decided to scrap the car. At the time of making payment, the owner still insisted us to take back the battery and spark plugs and even insisted on lowering the price as per agreed based on the quotation before we started with the work. After much negotiation, he then agreed to the fact that we changed the battery and spark plug out of no choice. In the end, we had even lower the total price based on the quotation agreed by him earlier on.

Didn't like the over-confidence that was given to solving a problem. Was promised that the problem I had would definitely be solved once I change out a part. One would be relatively assured with the confidence that it was a single cause (initial assessment) to which they would be "definitely solved". Moreover, Initial clarifications and questions by me were put off by saying that I was "over-thinking" the issue. After spending quite a sum, my problem came back, to which was initially promised that it wouldn't. Thereafter, other factors was quoted to be the source of the problem. Well, that only thing that I was appeased with and gotta give credit to was the fact that the part they changed was an original and working one. Other than that, there was a sense of reluctance and a "laissez-faire" in trying to solve the re-occurring problem which put me off quite a bit. - Ow Shiyuan

Went recently because after office hours try to service my drum for screeching sound as my usual ws is closed and i dont like screeches on my car, quoted price and i accepted. Basically open drum , air gun on the pads , adjust and quickly place back , nothing was done to the drum and didnt look at the drum or clean the drum even after questioning the handler. Thats how lax the work is done. - Xing Jason

Sent in my F30 for an professional diagnosis on my ABS sensor. I try gone back to PML for assessment but recently their prices seem to be quietly going up & a must to change all 4 sensors. Always wanting to get a 2nd option, my friends recommend to me to this new workshop in the north. Indeed the team at Dmotorwerkz took the trouble to diagnosis it carefully and advise me only 1 sensor is faulty & need to be replaced. Thank you for the advise and services. - Ivan Tan C K
