Can use but not the very best | Posted on 17 Jun 2013 |

Review
Red Line 5W30 is okay to use but definitely not the best.
However, might not be suitable for low mileage drivers since this engine oil starts to deteriorate after like 7,000km.
From my experience, Mobil1 5W30 Gold can fair a better scoring than Red Line 5W30.
What I like
New oil change will feel the power, responsiveness and with a reasonable price tag.
What I do not like
Noisy after certain mileage and power starts to drop.
I installed this on
Mazda MX5
Review
Red Line oils are fully-synthetic formula that contains polyol ester basestocks. Protection is better than other oils of higher viscosity.
Changed to RL 5W30 (3Q, plus 1Q of RL Racing 30WT) before a long drive to Malaysia and also had a track session at PG. Other than that, usage was short distances of 90% city driving.
EO maintained its smoothness through to IOC at 8000 kms. Could easily have extended to 10000 kms. No UOA but butt feel is good. Engine is clean during the following oil change.
What I like
Performance, stability and durability! Smoother engine feel, good power delivery and very rev'vy across all range. Doesnt feel like it has shear even after 8000 kms. Do not have to worry about oil consumption or deterioration.
What I do not like
Price is on the higher side.
