Have been driving Optima for the past 1 year, it really meets all my need and I think overall this is a very worthwhile car for me.
The price is very reasonable, it is the cheapest among all 2.0L executive sedan and about $5k more than civic when I bought it.
Although a lot of people complain about the lacking of features, but I feel otherwise. It comes with 2 driver memory seat setting which is extremely useful for me, the side mirror auto fold and auto tilt downwards when gear at reverse position, auto rain sensor and auto headlight, paddle shift, auto door lock, auto-hold function which hold your brake (very useful when on slope)
About the audio panel, yes it is very old school. I got it changed to touch screen.
Overall, I really like the ride and I write this post because I feel it is under-rated so far

Test drove this car and placed it high on my choice of cars to buy. Although I eventually settled on a Japanese sedan, I must say this is car does rival most of the other Japanese mid sized sedans out there. The moment you open its door this car exudes luxury with the Drivers seat automatically sliding back to allow you more space to slip in. The interior finishings are TOP notch for its class, and sitting in it you might be fooled into thinking this was a higher end continental sedan. There is loads of space for both front and rear passengers as well , with three adults fitting comfortably in the back seat. The engine is relatively quiet and suspension is soft and nicely absorbs most road bumps. The car doesn't have a whole lot of power , but nevertheless you don't get the feeling that the car strains too much on pick up either. Perhaps my biggest grievance was with the entertainment system which seemed totally archaic compared to many other cars I tried. The SE said it might be possible to change the system but he couldn't be sure. All in all a very nice family car.

Test drive and subsequently bought the car immediately!
Kia has had bad reputation and is upping their game to gain consumer trust. Unfortunately, the Asian perception takes a little bit more time to change.
I've owned a Cerato Forte and couldn't believe the quality that Kia can produce given the price.
The Optima K5 is one great car with decent features. Unfortunately, the model in Singapore is merely a base model with many features removed. I would have given it a higher rating if options were given to consumers for higher specs.

Been driving the 2016 Optima for a month. What i can say is this should be a perfect car BUT, too many features has been removed. What you see in here is not what you are getting. No foglight, no climate control(disappointing). But overall is a good car at this price. Cause you can't get any car with these features at this price even they removed some of it. Many people still having traditional thinking that Korean car are still behind technology. But all these new Kia prove us they are already ahead of many Japanese car. Can't afford a luxury conti car so this is consider a very luxury car to me in my budget.

I test drove this car twice, the old model and then this current model. They feel the same. The car is very sleek and sporty, the low rear coupe-like roof line really sets the car apart from other cars in this category. It's probably one of the sportiest sedans in the market now at this price point. The ride quality is quite firm, going over some humps could be a bit harsh but movement is well controlled. Handling is really very good, turn-in is sharp and the car tracks well. The gear paddles lend the car a sporty feel but they aren't very intuitive to use since the gearbox will switch up or down if you exceed certain RPMs. Not entirely manual control. Build quality is good, the interior is very germanic, all black textured rubber soft touch material. Looks a bit austere, but very well put together. Everything fits superbly. Switch gear quality is up there with the best. Engine response is good, power is easily available and the engine noise is very well muted. Overall refined, and comfortable. It just looks sporty, it isn't really very sporty to drive.

Test drove the new Optima and was really impressed. The car looks extremely good, the sloping roof line and sharp styling gives it a very coupe-like appearance, very unlike the usual family sedans on the road. The interior of the car is also very spacious and comfortable. Leg room and headroom is good all around, especially in the rear. Its much more spacious than i expected.
the optima also drives well. Family sedans tend to be abit boring and uninteresting to drive, and the optima definitely isnt. The steering is light at low speeds, but at higher speeds, and especially in sports mode it really does sharpen up. Its also comfortable to drive, not overly soft.
overall, i must say that's its a really impressive car. Affordable, too.
