Vertex and Chery pen new strategic partnership

Local distributor of motor vehicles Vertex Automobile has formally announced it is partnering with Chery International.

The two firms have conducted an official contract signing ceremony that marks the start of a new collaboration that will see more electric vehicles entering the Singapore market.

The Omoda 5 EV is set to arrive here in Singapore by the first quarter of 2024

This ceremony was graced by guests including Mr. Yin Tong Yue, Chairman of Chery Group, Mr. Zhang Gui Bing, General Manager of Chery International and Mr. Shan Xiang Qian, Vice Governor of AnHui province in China (where Chery is headquartered).

The partnership also sees Vertex Automobile securing the exclusive distribution rights for Chery International's Omoda and Jaecoo electric vehicles here in Singapore - a move we announced after noticing a post on Vertex's Facebook page in April 2023. The Omoda 5 EV is set to arrive here in the first quarter of 2024, while the Jaecoo brand is scheduled for a later release date.

Vertex aims to expedite Singapore's shift to a greener, more sustainable future with this new partnership. Representatives from both Vertex Automobile and Chery International have graced a host of diplomatic events in Singapore through this week, alongside foreign and local representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore and local government organisations such as IMDA and MTI, further reverberating the need for close bilateral ties between Singapore and China, as well as with other regional players.
