Sony Honda Mobility Inc. reveal first details of Afeela concept

One year after the announcement of its formation, the Sony Honda Mobility Inc. has revealed the first details of its new brand, Afeela, as well as the first information surrounding its concept car, designed to show potential customers what to expect from the new firm.
The new brand is said to take its name from its intent to "express an interactive relationship where people 'Feel' mobility as an intelligent entity."
Alongside the announcement of this new firm comes the first details of a concept.
The Afeela concept car is said to sport a total of 45 cameras and sensors inside and outside the vehicle. Sony Honda Mobility Inc. states that it intends to offer its production vehicle with Level 3 automated driving under limited conditions, and to enable Level 2 driver assistance in even more situations such as urban driving.
On the inside, a new Human Machine Interface is said to be offered in the concept, promising a personalised in-car experience through cloud-service connectivity. The firm has also confirmed a collaboration with video game firm Epic Games, designed to offer new mobility services and entertainment for its customers.
No drivetrain details have yet been offered for the concept, although Sony Honda Mobility Inc. does state that it measures 4,895mm long and 1,900mm wide. All-wheel drive is also said to be offered.
The firm states that it will develop its production model based on this prototype, and plans to start taking pre-orders in the first half of 2025, commence sales by the end of 2025, and to begin delivery from early 2026 in North America.
