Skoda has revealed new details of the Elroq, a new all-electric crossover.
The firm has revealed that the car will be the first to be informed by the firm's new Modern Solid design language, which means you can expect the car to sport a Tech-Deck Face (replacing the traditional Skoda grille and housing a host of safety equipment such as a radar and front camera) alongside new brand lettering on its bonnet.
Skoda additionally states that the Elroq will get a new head light design, with a slim upper section which houses the indicators and daytime running lights, while a lower section will house the car's low beam and high beam LED modules, delivering a new interpretation of Skoda's iconic four-eyed face.
All variants of the Elroq will get LED technology, but at the top‑of‑the-range, the car will be offered with LED Matrix beam head lights, alongside dynamic indicators and taillights that come with backlit crystalline elements.
In the cabin, the car will get a 5.0-inch Digital Cockpit, alongside a 13-inch central infotainment display. A host of sustainable materials, including Recytitan fibre (made of 78% recycled plastics), will also be utilised here. The Skoda Elroq is expected to offer 470 litres of boot space at the rear, which can expand to 1,580 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
The Skoda Elroq is set to be available in a total of four powertrain options, so the car can offer from 168bhp to 295bhp. The entry-level Elroq 50 will make use of a 55kWh battery which animates a motor that drives the rear axle of the car, while the Elroq 60 will get a 63kWh battery and a 201bhp electric motor.
The Elroq 85 and Elroq 85x variants both make use of an 82kWh battery, with the Elroq 85 delivering a peak output of 282bhp, and the Elroq 85x getting an additional motor that drives the front axle. These variants will be able to charge up at up to 175kW.
