2013 might have not have been the most impressive year for Formula One as once again Sebastian Vettel clinched the driver's championship for the fourth consecutive time - along with Infiniti Red Bull Racing who claimed their fourth constructors championships.

The launch is timed four days before the start of pre-season testing in Jerez, Spain and strangely McLaren will reveal the MP4-29 through the team's website - a departure from yesteryears where the open wheelers were launched at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
Shortly after, Mercedes AMG will unveil their challenger on the morning of 28th of January - the first day of pre-season testing - with no formal launch prior to the date. Following suit is Caterham, who will also reveal their 2014 challenger for the first time on the same day.
In contrast, Lotus will skip the first test of the season with its 2014 contender - the E22 - in order to have more time to develop the car. Lotus believes it will not be the sole team to skip the first testing session of the calendar, but (hopefully) we can expect juggernaut teams like Scuderia Ferrari and Infiniti Red Bull Racing to join McLaren, Mercedes and Caterham in revealing their cars at the end of the month too.
For the 2014 season, the sport faces one of the biggest technical changes in recent history. From narrow front wings and bigger energy recovery systems to a lower chassis and smaller turbocharged engines - the cars of 2014 will look remarkably different from the past years' - all in the name of spurring interest in the sport once again.

The first visual impression of 2014 F1 racers who will ply circuits around the world, including our own Marina Bay Street Circuit, will be provided by the McLaren team as they aim to launch their 2014 challenger - the MP4-29 (MP4-28 pictured) - on the 24th of January.
