Defender lineup to get new OCTA flagship

The Land Rover sub-brand Defender has announced that it will introduce a new, high-performance all-terrain Defender OCTA.
Set to become the toughest, most capable and luxurious model in the brand's lineup, the Defender OCTA is set to feature a twin-turbocharged V8 (we are guessing it's the same unit as the one found in this Range Rover Sport SV), alongside a 6D Dynamics pitch and roll control system, which Defender states will give the car the ability to maintain a near-level stance during acceleration, braking and cornering on-road, while also maximising independent wheel travel and articulation across the most demanding off-road terrain. The accompanying teaser images also reveal the car is set to get a set of Brembo brake callipers.
The new Defender OCTA is also set to be symbolised via a new diamond badge, said to be inspired by a diamond's octahedron shape (diamond being the hardest naturally occurring substance on Earth). The new badge will feature on a host of the car's interior and exterior components, while additionally featuring as a gloss black diamond within a machined and sandblasted titanium disc on each Signature Graphic panel.
The Defender OCTA is currently undergoing an exhaustive development regime that will see it tackling the snow and ice of Sweden and the sands of the Dubai desert, on top of the rocks of Moab, and perhaps most interesting of all, the tarmac of the Nurburgring.
Prospective clients will be invited to attend exclusive previews of the Defender OCTA as part of a new global Defender Elements series, however, those interested are advised by Defender to register their interest with their Defender retailer now.
