Bentley has announced that it is backing a major sustainability initiative in Thailand in collaboration with everwave, a foundation partner of the Bentley Environmental Foundation.
The initiative, a clean up mission, includes a new innovative educational project which is part of a wider scheme run by everwave in collaboration with Audi Environmental Foundation and the Ferry Porsche Foundation. The scheme's ultimate goal is to clean up a major river of harmful plastic rubbish and establish a stable infrastructure for waste processing.
Bentley's support in Thailand is focused mostly on protecting rivers, streams and the ocean from plastic waste, all while employing a 'smart' refuse-collecting boat fitted with AI technology.
The educational scheme involves raising awareness among children of the serious sustainability issues surrounding the Chao Phraya River. The initiative, centered on 'learning by doing', will engage children to help in the clean up of Phasi Charoen Canal.
The Bentley Environmental Foundation was recently launched in June last year and comes as part of Bentleys Beyond100 strategy, acting as a representation of the marque's long-term commitment to supporting global sustainability projects, many of which are dedicated to water-based causes.
