MT-10’s lubrication technology is based on tribologic methods that improve lubricity and load-carrying capacity by improving metal surface characteristics and creating a stable, chemical, corrosion-controlled, halide boundary film.

After stopping a vehicle for hours, engine oil gradually drips into the oil pan and results in a state known as 'oil-lacking'. Starting the engine in such a state is called 'dry start'. 'Dry start' is one of the main reasons accounting for damage to the engine due to friction of metal surfaces.

The microscopic world of a metal surface is bumpy with low and high-lying surface regions, which are uneven with fissures. Friction between metal parts causes electrification, with the low-lying areas having negative charges, while the high-lying areas contain positive charges. Unlike charges attract, leading to more wear and tear or rupture.

As MT-10 is introduced, an electro-chemical reaction takes place, which develops an ionic bond with the low-lying surface regions. MT-10 then smoothens and seals metal surfaces, which significantly decreases friction and heat. The result is less wear and smoother operation of the mechanism without risk of build up.

The smoothening process of MT-10 is not to peel away the surface but to penetrate into the low and high-lying areas. The chloride component in MT-10 will gradually bond stably with a metal atom. The metal surfaces become smooth with the formation of the bond and repulsion between charges will help to reduce friction and wear.

With the application of MT-10, damage to engines during start up in cold weather is reduced. MT-10 maintains a vehicle's performance and naturally with an extended life, the car can be driven for a longer time.
