Five workshops with the most spectacular lounges

Petrolhead or not, it's a known fact that bringing your beloved car in for a regular servicing or repairs takes up a huge part of your day and can get tiresome. Workshops aren't exactly five-star hotels; they typically consist of sweaty half-naked men, poor ventilation, and copious amounts of carbon monoxide.
Couple that with excessive engine revving, hammering, and grinding; and it's just another Wednesday night at Zouk (without booze to numb the pain). We're all too familiar with your pain, which is why we've found five workshops with lounges that will make these dreaded moments much more bearable.
1. Garage R
Surrounded by wall-to-wall displays of high-performance parts, including full exhaust systems, rims, and turbochargers, Garage R's sitting area surrounds a TV, where customers can get comfortable while waiting for their cars to be worked on.
A brief chat with Lestor - the man in charge - revealed the rationale behind the casual 'garage-type' layout.
Garage R used to have a more atas feel to the place. However, the management discovered that it was making their customers uncomfortable and they saw a decrease in sales.
After reverting to the current layout, it has been business as usual for Garage R. Well, you know what they say, if it ain't broke...
2. The Brake Shop
The guys over at The Brake Shop mean business when it comes to making their customers feel right at home.
A Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) - accompanied by a plethora of games, including hot favourites like Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Far Cry 4 - will immediately catch your eye the moment you step in.
A Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine is also ready for you in case you need a pick-me-up while boosting cars and shooting up joints in GTA V.
Needless to say, space is of abundance here. If playing games isn't up your alley, you can be rest assured the vast variety of automotive magazines and comfortable chairs will be.
3. Alquest Sound Dynamics LLP
Less is more with Alquest; its clean minimalist look gives off a 'no nonsense' vibe. Separating the lounge and working area is a top-to-bottom glass window, which gives customers a full view of their car as it is being worked on.
They can kick back and admire a wide selection of speakers and subwoofers on display while keeping an eye on their beloved four-wheeled friends.
Alquest is a place for the true audiophile and car enthusiast.
Its bare bones layout affords customers the opportunity to be more involved by providing them with an unencumbered view of the whole process.
4. H Tyre Pte Ltd
H Tyre pulls out all the stops with its sports bar-style concept. Rims of all shapes and sizes adorn the walls while a 'bar counter' centralises the entire setup.
A TV resides in the far corner of the lounge, surrounded by a couple of armchairs and a couch.
Customers are in a for treat at H Tyre, which holds two pleasant surprises within behind its doors. A foosball table sits at one end of the lounge, while a pool table sits on the other.
So the next time you drop your car off at H Tyre, don’t miss out on the chance to play with the little men on a stick or a quick round of eight ball.
5. Bridgestone B-Select CLH Tyres Trading
An automotive workshop is the last place you would expect to see a massage chair. Yet, at CLH Tyres Trading, you can sit back and get a massage; courtesy of Ogawa.
If a massage isn't your cup of tea, you can always grab a high chair and watch your car from the viewing area or check out their wide array of Bridgestone products.
Items on display range from car accessories like rims and air fresheners to travel essentials like neck pillows, universal travel adaptors, and foldable travel bags.
It goes without saying, CLH Tyres - just like the aforementioned workshops - also has a comfy couch and a TV for customers to enjoy some good old moving pictures.
Trust us when we say a trip down to any one of these workshops will be more than enough to change your perspective on the whole 'dreadful workshop experience'.
