Shooting brakes seem to be the rage of late. After the Ferrari FF, the Bentley Flying Star and the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake, Porsche and even rumours of a Volkswagen CC based shooting brake have made the presence on the web. In similar fashion Italian design and coachbuilder Bertone has given its take on the shooting brake syndrome, through an Aston Martin Rapide based concept - christened the Bertone Jet 2+2.
The Jet 2+2 is essentially a shooting brake of the handsome Rapide. Interestingly the Jet 2+2 retains the same mechanicals and dimensions as the Rapide. The Jet 2+2 is powered by a 470bhp, 5.9-litre V12.
According to Bertone, the C-pillars are bent forward and connected to the muscular wheel arches for a perception of movement even if the car is still.
Four individual seats take up the interior with increased headroom for rear passengers. The two rear seats fold flat and can be utilised for cargo via a sliding cover.
