The American safety regulators on the other hand, have something else to say about it.
According to the recall, the electric fuel pump in the gas tank might not be properly "activated" because the fuel pump relay isn't "energized" during the start-up cycle. This can cause the engine to starve for fuel, and shut off unexpectedly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the problem effects 5,048 2010 Jaguar XF's & 2010-2011 XK's equipped with the new 5-litre engine.
The recall will officially begin in late August. At which time owners can take their sick cats to the local dealer for a free fix.
